چکیده

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) technique considering its reliability diagnose resorption due maxillary impacted canine. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 68 CBCT images were observed by two oral and maxillofacial radiologists. The position of canine was assessed, severity root in adjacent teeth determined rounds viewing. Finally, statistical analyses performed according percentage agreement, intra-class correlation coefficient, kappa. data sheets filled out radiologists who separate weeks recorded their opinions about crown Further, four examined for resorption. Results: most cases, no lateral, central, first premolars; however, reported lateral premolar higher than that others, second premolars. Agreement on be above 90% all observations. addition, agreement 98.5%, 95.6%, 100% resorption, central incisor, premolar, respectively. Maxillary canines using CBCT, interpretation reliable. Conclusions: Utilization provides a worthy localization effects teeth, more explanation treatment these cases.

Evaluation of Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Diagnosis and Treatment Plan of Impacted Maxillary Canines

Introduction: Maxillary canines have important roles in facial appearance, development of arch, and functional occlusion. Radiographs are important in evaluating the location and nature of these anomalies. The purpose of this study was to evaluate two types of 2D and 3D imaging technique in diagnosis and treatment of maxillary impacted canines. Methods: Thirty eight patients (50 impacted canine...

Comparison of cone beam computed tomography and digital radiography in detection of pulpal exposure in external cervical root resorption

Background and Aims: Pulpal exposures originated from the external cervical root resorptions have major effects on the treatment and prognosis. Therefore, the aim of this study was performed to compare the two different imaging systems-digital radiography with PSP (Photostimulable Phosphor) sensor in three horizontal different views and CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) images to assess the ...
